Ms. Kahura has six years of post-bar experience and extensive legal expertise across international, national, and county governments and private practice. She has provided high-level advisory opinions on the intersection of international trade law and human rights legislation in Europe and Africa during her tenure at the International Trade Center.
Her contributions extend to crafting Kenyan high court judgments in criminal law, covering cases like murder, robbery, sexual offenses, and appeals. In land and environmental law, Ms. Kahura has played a crucial role in high-level judgments related to land ownership, mining rights, and interests arising from land rights. She significantly impacted public health by litigating a landmark case ensuring patient consent rights in HIV testing in Kenya (J.K.K VS AAR, 2020). In civil litigation, she excels in debt recovery, handling cases exceeding ten million shillings. Her diverse contributions also include drafting policies and laws for national and county governments in gender, trade, energy, and agriculture.
She holds a master’s in international Trade and Commercial Law from the University of Sussex, in the United Kingdom, a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi, and a postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law and a membership at the law society of Kenya.
